71% to total water demand for all purposes, desalinated water 24% and treated wastewater 5%. In 2015, underground contributed to 50% and it is projected that underground water will finish in next 50 years.

  • The leading consumption share of desalinated water in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi was for domestic purposes with 45% in 2019, followed by agriculture for 22%, then commercial by 18%. During the same time period, total consumption volume of desalinated water in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi was over one billion cubic meters. (1cubic meter = 1,000 liters)
